Counselling & Group Programs for Teens and Young Men
Welcome to Bloke2Bloke
“A relatable and judgment-free counselling service that thinks outside the box when helping men and teens overcome life’s obstacles.”
Mental health doesn’t discriminate. It can affect everyone, regardless of age. Unfortunately, the stigma around ‘youth programs’ and ‘counselling for teens and young men’ has kept many from getting the help they need to get back on track.
1 IN 5 YOUNG MEN HAVEANXIETY AT SOME POINT IN LIFE
1 IN 7 AUSTRALIAN TEENS EXPERIENCEDEPRESSIONIN ANY GIVEN YEAR
This shows just how common it is! They’re not alone. But not sharing their experiences can make them feel that way.
In today’s fast-paced world, the pressures of life can really impact a young person’s mental health. Some common factors include:
Relationship issues, or family problems
School stress, exams, or economic pressures
Social media and societal expectations
Compulsive behaviours and unhealthy coping strategies
Lack of purpose and direction
These issues can show up as anger, relying on negative coping mechanisms, struggling to focus at school or work, and withdrawing from friends and family. Instead of letting these things get in the way of who they really are, it’s important to break this invisible barrier and encourage them to talk to a counsellor who understands what they’re going through.
HOW WE CAN HELP

However, after participating in a group program or individual counselling, many young men and teens experienced a significant boost in their ability to open up and communicate. Given that In Australia, 8.6 people commit suicide every day, and 75% of them are male these newfound skills can literally be a lifesaver!

SOMETHING DIFFERENT
SOMETHING DIFFERENT
Hi, I’m Andy, registered Counsellor, P.T. and the guy behind bloke2bloke. I get it, lots of young men and teens aren’t feeling quite themselves at the moment. Something’s off, but reaching out for help can be a real challenge. Why? Because most services out there just don’t get young men, teens and their unique needs and perspectives.
Time and time again, talk-based therapy like counselling or group programs has shown to be one of the best ways to boost our mental health. But let’s be honest, the idea of sitting in a room spilling our guts to a stranger can make any of us cringe.
That’s why I set out to create something different, something that speaks young men’s language and offers real solutions for teens who need a hand overcoming life’s obstacles.
Thats why Bloke2bloke provides a variety of fresh options that break free from the traditional “therapy” approach.
On the Gold Coast, I offer Walk and walk-and-talk counselling. It’s a relaxed, informal way for teens and young men to have counselling sessions while enjoying the outdoors.
Online counselling is a great option for teens and young men with busy schedules or who’d rather skip the travel. With Zoom, they can have a session right from their own couch.
A dynamic group program that blends physical activity with breaking down barriers. It’s a chance for young males who share similar challenges to come together and start making positive changes as a group.
In all sessions and programs, I create a judgment-free space where teens and young men can talk openly without any lectures on how they should behave. I understand that no one wants their own ideas forced on them. With me, every session will be relatable and relaxed, while still offering expert guidance to help rewire their thinking with effective behavioral therapies
I work with a simple mantra:
“Helping young men become the bloke they want to be!”
